As per the CARI ASEAN Research and Advocacy report, outbound tourism of India has observed a significant increase, with there being more than 2.16 crore departures in 2023. The region of Southeast Asia has particularly come forth as a top destination, attracting around 37.5 lakh Indian tourists in the same year, a significant increase compared to just 31,100 in 2021.

Malaysia recorded a 71.7 per cent increase in yearly tourist arrivals of Indians, with arrivals of over 10 lakh between January and November of 2024, due to its visa waiver policy implemented in December 2023. Thailand also trailed closely behind with respect to India's 9.51 lakh tourists in 2023, as it reflected its consistent popularity according to India’s Tourism Statistics 2023.

Among numerous possibilities, several of these places have impressed with their attractiveness, ease of access, and overall allure. From serene islands to urban breaks, below are six of the hottest visa-free places to visit that suit Indian travellers to discover the world at ease.
