The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) has wrapped up another successful edition of Germany Travel Mart™ (GTM 360°), reporting robust outcomes for the international travel trade event. This year’s GTM brought together 129 German tourism companies and organisations with around 150 accredited international buyers, including delegates from India, who booked more than 3,200 one-on-one meetings using the GNTB's digital platform.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with 87 per cent expressing satisfaction and 98 per cent confirming new business contacts. An impressive 85 per cent intend to return for future editions, underlining the Mart’s status as a key driver of German inbound tourism.
Dorint Hotels Betriebs GmbH and Deutsche Lufthansa AG served as Premium Partners for GTM 2025, while Sixt SE supported the event as a mobility partner.
At the event’s conclusion, Petra Hedorfer, CEO of the GNTB, presented the GTM trophy to Rainer Suhr, Head of Tourism and Marketing at OWT Oberhausener Tourismus- und Wirtschaftsförderung GmbH, marking Oberhausen as the host city for GTM 2026, scheduled from April 19-21.
Petra Hedorfer, CEO of the GNTB, explains: 'The new GTM 360° format proved to be a resounding success. The emphasis was on collaboration and dialogue - with the aim of generating new business, strengthening markets and raising the international visibility of Germany as a travel destination. Oberhausen will be our host in GNTB 2026 and serves as a prime example of the dynamic transformation of the Ruhr region into a vibrant tourist destination with a rich cultural offering. The old zinc factory as a GTM event venue is a reflection of this development. I am confident that the OWT will provide an excellent framework for presenting the performance and innovative strength of the German tourism industry to international buyers.'
Next year’s event will spotlight green redevelopment and the International Garden Exhibition Ruhr 2027, promoting sustainability and regional transformation as key attractions for international travellers.
