New Update
Courchevel

When most think of Courchevel, they picture a snow-draped wonderland — fur coats, firelit chalets, and world-class slopes. But once the last skier descends and the snow begins to melt, something remarkable happens: the French Alps breathe again, and Courchevel reawakens — not as a shadow of its winter self, but as a destination reborn.Courchevel transforms from ski haven to alpine retreat each summer, offering wellness, culture, and adventure in a serene, sunlit version of the French Alps.

“You know Courchevel in the snow. Now meet it in the sun — slower, softer, and every bit as spectacular.”

As Alexia Lainé, Director of Courchevel Tourism, puts it,“Courchevel in summer unveils a dynamic tapestry of experiences that extend far beyond its renowned winter allure. Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, the region transforms into a haven for adventurers and culture enthusiasts alike. From exhilarating hikes through the Vanoise Massif offering panoramic vistas, to adrenaline-pumping mountain biking trails and serene rounds of golf amidst alpine meadows, there’s an adventure for every soul. The season is further enlivened by open-air music festivals and spirited sports competitions, creating an atmosphere brimming with energy and cultural richness. For Indian travellers seeking a blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion, Courchevel stands as an unparalleled summer destination.”

From Whitecoat to Wildflower

Between July 5 and August 31, Courchevel trades ski poles for trekking poles. The landscape softens. Slopes once carved by skis bloom with wildflowers, and 270 kilometres of sun-warmed trails beckon hikers, e-bikers, and dreamers. The air, thin and clear, carries the scent of pine and alpine blossom. Lakes like Le Praz — among the rare alpine lakes approved for bathing — offer tranquil swims framed by majestic peaks.

Wellness in the Mountains

Aquamotion

In 2025, wellness travel isn’t just a trend, it’s a necessity. Courchevel rises to the occasion with Aquamotion, one of Europe’s largest mountain wellness centres. Its updated summer offerings are as dynamic as its setting: salt grottoes, surf simulators, open-air yoga decks and panoramic thermal baths turn wellness into an immersive, alpine art form.

Here, detoxing isn’t deprivation — it’s floating in mineral-rich water while the mountains echo silence.

Culture Comes to Altitudes

Summer reveals Courchevel’s soul. It’s not just a playground; it’s a stage. In July and August, the town hosts a series of cultural events that feel both intimate and grand.

Theatre

  • Fête de la Madelon brings the past to life with traditional brass bands, folk costumes, and a bubbling cauldron of 600-litre soup simmered in the village square.

  • Les 3 Coups Festival turns the mountain air into a theatre of expression.

  • Fêtes Musicales de Savoie surrounds you with classical symphonies, the mountains serving as both amphitheatre and muse.

This intersection of nature and culture resonates with Indian luxury travellers seeking meaning behind every experience.

Experience the Adreline

For all its calm, Courchevel hasn’t lost its edge. On July 24, the legendary Stage 18 of the Tour de France will pass through, with elite cyclists grinding up the infamous Col de la Loze — a brutal 26.2 km ascent peaking at 2,304 metres. It’s a front-row seat to human endurance.

Björka X3

And for those who’d rather join the action:

  • Red Bull 400 challenges runners to sprint straight up the Olympic ski jump.

  • Björka X3 combines rowing, cycling, and trail running into one gruelling triathlon.

Whether you’re a spectator or a participant, adrenaline is part of the summer pulse.

A New Chapter For Indian Luxury Travellers

Today’s Indian traveller isn’t content with checklists. They crave immersion, authenticity, and story-rich escapes. Courchevel delivers all that, wrapped in the exclusivity and elegance Indian luxury tourists appreciate. With direct connections via Geneva or Lyon and a scenic two to three hour drive, the journey itself is part of the charm. This summer, Courchevel isn’t just a ski town on hiatus; it’s a reinvention in full bloom. And for Indian travellers ready to discover Europe beyond its stereotypes, it’s a secret too spectacular to stay secret for long.
