Taj’s renowned Indian restaurant, Quilon, located within the prestigious Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, has unveiled a stunning new interior and an elevated culinary offering. A proud recipient of a Michelin star since 2008, Quilon has long been a beacon of refined Indian cuisine in the UK.

Mehrnavaz Avari, Area Director UK, IHCL, said, “Quilon is a symbol of Taj’s iconic Indian culinary excellence in the UK. With an 18-year Michelin star legacy, this next chapter brings renewed energy to the experience while remaining anchored in the coastal heritage that has always defined Quilon.”

The updated Quilon captures the essence of South-West coastal India in London's centre. Focused on coastal flavours and crafted with modern techniques, the menu showcases vibrant, spice-rich dishes — from exquisite seafood to delicately spiced meats and evocative vegetarian plates — all designed to be shared. Iconic favourites such as Seafood Moilee and Malabar Lamb Biryani sit alongside new creations like Baked Black Cod and Oyster’s Three Ways.

Chef Sriram Aylur also commented, “Guided by regional roots and shaped by seasonal ingredients, our menus blend signature favourites with contemporary interpretations. From the spice-laced kitchens of Karvar to the coconut-rich coasts of Kerala, our menu reimagines regional depth with contemporary flair — balancing bold flavour with freshness, finesse, and a deep respect for every ingredient. At Quilon, we’ve always cooked with the past in our hearts and the present in our hands. This next phase reflects that — familiar, yet full of new stories waiting to be told.”

The interiors, designed by Atelier Wren, pay homage to India’s south-west coast with a serene colour palette and authentic cultural details. Features include slatted ceilings, terracotta brick flooring, and hand-painted palm frond wallpaper by Kerala-based artist Anila. Rattan chairs and chestnut-red tiles nod to regional heritage, while artisan accents such as bronze counters etched with Cassia fistula, diya-inspired lighting, and Tholpavakoothu puppets reinforce the authentic atmosphere. A private dining room for 16, adorned with a brass marigold installation, offers an intimate space for special occasions.

Quilon’s revival represents a deeper embrace of its core. A place where every detail tells a story, and each dish honours the timeless spirit of India’s south-west coast.
