Lošinj Hotels & Villas has announced that Alfred Keller, the signature fine dining restaurant at Boutique Hotel Alhambra, has retained its Michelin star for 2025, cementing its position among Croatia’s premier culinary venues. Additionally, Matsunoki, the sophisticated Japanese restaurant at Hotel Bellevue, has once again been honoured with a Michelin recommendation, reaffirming its status as one of the region’s finest Asian dining experiences.
Alfred Keller continues to push the boundaries of contemporary Mediterranean cuisine under the leadership of Chef Michael Gollenz. Since taking charge in 2021, Chef Gollenz, who trained under two-Michelin-starred Chef Christian Kuchler, has infused the restaurant with innovation and international flair. Earning its first Michelin star in 2021, retaining that recognition through to 2025 is a testament to Chef Gollenz’s ongoing creativity and dedication to culinary excellence.
The restaurant’s philosophy combines classic French techniques with international influences, all rooted in the purity and seasonality of Croatian ingredients. Guests can enjoy à la carte options or explore multi-course Signature and Innovation tasting menus, each expertly paired with a selection from a renowned wine cellar boasting over 600 labels.
Matsunoki remains a true highlight in the region, led by Chef Orhan Chakiroglu. The restaurant continues to enchant diners with its exquisite Japanese cuisine. Delicate sashimi, sushi, and kaiseki-style dishes are complemented by an extensive wine list, including options by the glass, alongside a carefully curated selection of premium sake and Japanese whiskies. Its continued Michelin recommendation this year, following its Michelin Plate accolade in 2024, underscores its commitment to quality.
Together, Alfred Keller and Matsunoki exemplify the finest of Lošinj’s dining scene, honouring both local flavours and international gastronomy. Their ongoing recognition by the Michelin Guide highlights the island’s emerging reputation as a serious culinary destination in Croatia and beyond.
