Pugdundee Safaris has announced the latest edition of its Walking & Mobile Safari at Denwa Backwater Escape in the Satpura Tiger Reserve. This unique programme offers guests the thrill of exploring Satpura Tiger Reserve on foot for over two days, guided by trained, experienced naturalists and supported by a dedicated camp team.

The safari promises intimate wildlife experiences and the chance to immerse in Satpura’s pristine landscapes—walking along rivers and streams, spotting rich birdlife, and visiting tribal villages along the way. The evenings will be spent in a full-service camp, set up exclusively in the buffer zone for the guests. The camp features walk-in tents, daily housekeeping, and freshly prepared meals.

Speaking about the initiative, Pugdundee Safaris’ Co-Founder Manav Khanduja said, “The Walking & Mobile Safari is about slowing down, reconnecting with the wilderness, and experiencing Satpura in its truest form. It’s raw, adventurous, yet deeply comfortable—an offering we are very excited to bring to our guests.”

The five-day journey begins with a relaxed stay at Denwa Backwater Escape, with the option of a jeep or boat safari in Satpura. Guests then embark on a full-day trek to the first mobile camp, followed by a scenic hike along the Denwa River with multiple stream crossings to reach the second camp. The fourth day offers an optional bird walk before driving back to Denwa Backwater Escape for the final night. Guests will depart after breakfast on Day 5.

The safari promises high adventure, with daily walks of about 5–7 hours and 2–3 breaks. Because the walks involve downhill sections and moderate climbing, a moderate fitness level is required to participate. There will be no electricity at the camps; lanterns and flashlights will be provided to guests. Each tent will have a separate dry pit toilet tent and a shower tent with bucket baths. There will be no phone connectivity at the camps, but there will be a few points during the walk with limited connectivity.

This exclusive experience will operate with a limited number of 6–8 guests to provide good interaction opportunities and minimise pressure on the camping-out experience. The Walking & Mobile Safari by Pugdundee Safaris will be held in two batches; the first group will be hosted from November 14–18, 2025 and the second group from January 23–27, 2026.
