Adrift Kaya at JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity celebrated the grand debut of its signature dining series, Icons at the Table, on September 20 with cricketing legend David Warner as the guest of honour. The evening brought together a select group of guests for an intimate experience that seamlessly wove together haute cuisine, inspiring stories, and meaningful conversations.

Icons at the Table is envisioned as a cultural platform where icons from across industries — from sport and business to art and culture — share the table with guests, transforming each gathering into a dialogue between story, artistry, and cuisine.

The First Edition: An Evening with David Warner

The debut edition proved to be a resounding success, with guests engaging in lively exchanges with David Warner, one of cricket’s most dynamic opening batsmen. Chef David Myers, the globally acclaimed culinary artist behind Adrift Kaya, curated an extraordinary six-course Kaiseki-inspired omakase menu that paid homage to Japanese haute cuisine while carrying Kaya’s distinctive contemporary flair.

Menu Highlights

  • Kaki / Hiroshima Oysters with yuzu mango foam
  • Madai Ceviche / Japanese “Red Sea Bream” with passion fruit
  • Toro / Tuna Belly “On Toast” with Hokkaido Uni, Okinawa Mozuku, Dehydrated Egg Yolk & Caviar
  • Kinmedai Nigiri / Golden Eye Snapper with yuzu soy & dry kombu
  • Zuke Akami / Lean Tuna with black truffle
  • Hotate Nigiri / Hokkaido Scallop with fresh sudachi zest
  • Kani Hand Roll / Hokkaido Crab with truffle aioli & potato crisp
  • Unagi Hand Roll / Shizuoka Eel with avocado purée & onion crisp
  • Gindara Hand Roll / Miso Black Cod with crispy garlic chips
  • Japanese Sponge Cake with yuzu citrus crème

Each plate was designed as more than just food — it was a narrative, reflecting Warner’s spirited persona while celebrating seasonality, restraint, and artistry.

Sharad Datta, General Manager, JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity, shared, “Icons at the Table is envisioned as a series where food becomes the setting for rare conversations with extraordinary personalities. Hosting our very first edition with David Warner was truly special — an evening where the spirit of sport, storytelling, and cuisine came together in an intimate sit-down that our guests will long remember. It marks the start of a journey we are proud to share at Adrift Kaya.”

With this successful debut, Icons at the Table has established itself as more than fine dining — it is an immersive experience of connection, culture, and craftsmanship that will continue to bring global icons to the table in future editions.
