In response to rising travel demand, Air India is expanding its international footprint in South Asia by introducing additional flights to Kathmandu, Colombo, and Bangkok, effective July 7, 2025. The expansion enhances connectivity and adds over 7,000 weekly seats across the three popular destinations.
The national carrier will operate a sixth daily service between Delhi and Kathmandu, increasing the frequency on this route to 42 weekly flights. It also doubles the frequency of its Delhi-Colombo service with the launch of a second daily flight, now offering 14 flights weekly. Additionally, a third daily flight between Mumbai and Bangkok will raise the total number of services to the Thai capital to 18 weekly.
Air India will deploy its state-of-the-art narrowbody aircraft on the Kathmandu and Bangkok routes, featuring a three-class cabin configuration, including Premium Economy. This aims to enhance the flying experience for passengers seeking comfort and convenience on short-haul routes.
These flights also provide seamless one-stop connectivity for travellers from North America, Europe, and the Far East to these South Asian gateways. Bookings for the new services are now open through all major channels, including Air India’s website, mobile app, ticketing offices, customer service centres, and authorised travel agents.
With the latest additions, Air India will operate 42 weekly flights to Kathmandu, 28 to Colombo, and 46 to Bangkok, further cementing its position as India’s leading global airline.
