Air India and Icelandair Form New Codeshare Agreement

The partnership aims to strengthen economic and travel ties, providing passengers with greater convenience, better connection times, and coordinated baggage policies at key European hubs

On June 2 2025, Air India and Icelandair announced a new codeshare partnership enhancing connectivity between India and Iceland. The arrangement allows for smoother travel options across 15 routes linking India and various European destinations.

The partnership aims to strengthen economic and travel ties, providing passengers with greater convenience, better connection times, and coordinated baggage policies at key European hubs.

Following the signing of the agreement at the 81st IATA AGM in New Delhi:

  • Air India will place its ‘AI’ code on Icelandair flights between Reykjavik and several European cities, including London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Milan, and Zurich.
  • Icelandair will add its ‘FI’ code to Air India flights connecting Delhi and Mumbai with destinations such as Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, and London.
