Air India Express is set to commence direct flights between Bengaluru and Kathmandu from June 1st, 2025, expanding its network within the subcontinent. The new route will connect Nepal’s capital with India’s tech hub, offering travellers an additional option for leisure and cultural exploration.
Bookings are now available via the airline’s website and major travel channels, with introductory fares starting at Rs 8,000 for Xpress Lite and Rs 8,500 for Xpress Value.
Kathmandu, located in the Himalayas’ foothills, is known for its rich heritage, including UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, and as a gateway for Everest treks. Visitors can also explore nearby destinations like Pokhara, Lumbini—the birthplace of Lord Buddha—and the historic city of Bhaktapur.
Commenting on the launch of services to Kathmandu, Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, said, “We are delighted to expand our footprint to Nepal, our neighbouring country in the subcontinent, further strengthening the deep-rooted cultural and economic ties we share. This new route brings people, tales, and traditions closer, while reinforcing our vision of making travel more accessible and meaningful. It also builds on our recent expansion into short-haul international leisure destinations such as Bangkok and Phuket.”
The new service provides convenient one-stop connections to Kathmandu from 20 Indian cities, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Mumbai, as well as international connections from Abu Dhabi and Dammam. Air India Express operates over 450 weekly flights from Bengaluru to 31 destinations across India and abroad, offering both direct and one-stop options for travellers.
