All-Women Pilot Crew Operates Akasa Air’s Latest Aircraft Delivery

Akasa Air added its 33rd aircraft to its fleet, marking the second induction of the year 2026 and highlighting the airline’s steady expansion. The delivery flight was operated by an all-women pilot team, with Captain Svetlana Pereira and First Officer Karen Noronha. The aircraft’s journey began in Seattle, USA, with a stop in Keflavik, Iceland, and concluded in Bengaluru, India, via Larnaca, Cyprus. Registered as VT-YBM, the Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 arrived at Kempegowda International Airport on February 4, 2026.

The airline continues to align fleet growth closely with network and operational readiness, ensuring sustainable expansion while maintaining high standards of service and reliability. The latest induction strengthens the airline’s ability to connect more destinations, build greater depth across its domestic and international footprint.

Built to Akasa Air’s purpose-built specifications and equipped with Safran Z200 seats, the newly inducted aircraft reflects the airline’s continued focus on uniformity, passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and sustainability across its growing fleet. The next-generation seating brings enhanced comfort through improved recline, ergonomic back support, plush cushioning, and integrated USB-C and USB-A charging ports, offering a more relaxed and connected flying experience for modern travellers.

The Boeing 737 MAX joins Akasa’s young and fuel-efficient fleet as part of the airline’s planned induction schedule, reflecting the disciplined and phased approach that underpins its growth strategy. Akasa Air has placed a firm order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with a robust pipeline of 193 additional aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next six years, reflecting its commitment to supporting India’s rapidly growing travel demand.
