Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, has announced daily direct flights between Mumbai and Phuket, starting Sept 20, 2025. This marks the carrier’s first step into Southeast Asia and its sixth international destination, bringing the airline’s total network to 29 cities.

Commenting on the announcement, Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said, “We are thrilled to foray into Southeast Asia with the addition of Phuket to our global network. India is entering a new era of outbound tourism powered by its large population of globally curious flyers. With conveniently timed daily direct flights connecting Mumbai with Phuket, we are not only catering to the aspirations of modern Indian travellers but also strengthening the cultural and economic bridges between India and Thailand. We remain committed to building a holistic network by continuing expansion on strategically significant international corridors and catering to the travel-ready India, backed by our signature Akasa experience.” Known for its white-sand beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich Thai culture, Phuket is one of the most sought-after holiday destinations for Indian travellers. With this launch, Akasa Air aims to make the tropical paradise more accessible while strengthening tourism and trade ties between India and Thailand.

Bookings are now open on Akasa Air’s website, mobile app, and leading OTAs. Travellers can also enjoy up to 20 per cent off by using the promo code FLYMORE.

The new route offers morning departures from Mumbai and afternoon returns from Phuket, giving travellers more time at their destination. Flight QP 0618 will leave Mumbai at 07:45 hrs and land in Phuket at 14:35 hrs, while the return flight QP 0619 departs at 15:35 hrs and arrives in Mumbai at 19:15 hrs.

The airline also offers over 25 ancillary products, including Akasa GetEarly for priority boarding, Seat & Meal Deal, Extra Seat, and Akasa Holidays packages for personalised travel experiences. Unique features like SkyScore by Akasa, SkyLights, and QuietFlights further enhance the journey.

By adding Phuket to its network, Akasa Air is offering travellers easy access to world-class beaches, water sports, island-hopping adventures, and authentic Thai cuisine, all with the convenience of a non-stop connection from Mumbai.

Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International, Akasa Air, added, “With this expansion, Akasa Air reinforces its commitment of making global travel accessible for every flyer. Thailand has long been a favourite among Indian travellers, and the demand for direct and affordable international travel continues to surge across the country. As we expand our international footprint, we remain committed to offering travellers meaningful connections that enable them to experience vibrant opportunities across borders.”
