Travellers can now fly directly between Delhi and Tashkent with Centrum Air, Uzbekistan’s largest private airline, which has officially launched its new passenger service connecting the two capitals. The airline will operate two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Fridays, offering greater convenience for tourists, business travellers, and those exploring cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan.

The inaugural flight took off from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport amid a festive atmosphere that celebrated the growing partnership between the two nations. The departure hall came alive with colourful decorations, rangoli, and traditional music, while passengers enjoyed photo opportunities with themed props and banners. The ceremony began with a traditional diya lighting, followed by a cake-cutting at both Delhi and Tashkent airports. Passengers received commemorative gifts, and the crew were welcomed with bouquets to mark the occasion.

Adil Mirza, Centrum Air, said, “Today marks a proud moment for Centrum Air as we see our Delhi–Tashkent service take flight. India has always been a priority market for us. With this launch, we are not just adding a route — we are building a bridge that connects cultures, businesses, and people. We are confident that this direct link will inspire more travellers from India to experience Uzbekistan’s hospitality and heritage.”

Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director & CEO of Aeroprime Group, added, “The inaugural Delhi–Tashkent flight reflects the strength of our partnership with Centrum Air. As Centrum Air’s Exclusive GSA in India, we are proud to support this service and ensure its success. This is more than a new route — it’s an opportunity to strengthen ties and bring the people of India and Uzbekistan closer together.”

For travellers, the route offers a comfortable and affordable way to discover Uzbekistan’s rich history and cultural heritage — from the blue-domed mosques of Samarkand to the bustling bazaars of Tashkent — while also inviting Uzbek visitors to experience India’s diversity.

The celebration follows a pre-launch event held at The Grand in New Delhi on 26 September, attended by His Excellency Sardor Rustambaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, along with trade partners, dignitaries, and media representatives. The gathering highlighted Centrum Air’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the Indian market and supporting tourism between the two countries.

With its modern fleet and passenger-focused services, Centrum Air aims to make travel between Delhi and Tashkent smoother and more accessible. As air links strengthen, both nations stand to benefit from increased tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, bringing the two regions closer than ever before.
