Full Portfolio Operational Across Sri Lanka
Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts stated that it remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and employees, while supporting affected communities during the recovery period after Cyclone Ditwah.
Weather linked to Cyclone Ditwah caused temporary disruption at several properties. The group noted that communities continue to experience the impact of the floods and expressed solidarity with those affected. Throughout this period, the priority remained the safety and well-being of staff, communities, and guests.
The company said guest safety protocols were upheld, in-house guests remained safe, and updates were shared with travel partners and stakeholders. It added that the response of teams enabled affected properties, including Cinnamon Lodge Habarana, Habarana Village by Cinnamon, Cinnamon Citadel Kandy, Kandy Myst by Cinnamon, and Trinco Blu by Cinnamon, to resume welcoming guests.
As of December 1, 2025, all Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts properties are fully operational. The group reported that operations are functioning as usual, business continues across the portfolio, and guests continue to arrive, stay, and depart as scheduled. It confirmed that bookings, arrivals, and planned activities remain on schedule.
The company also stated that, together with the John Keells Group and the John Keells Foundation, it continues to support affected communities. It noted, “As a leading hospitality brand, our priority is to support the nation’s recovery while ensuring the continued comfort and safety of all who stay with us or live around us. We extend our sincere appreciation to our dedicated teams, local authorities, partners and most of all our guests, for their understanding and cooperation during these times.”
Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts said it will provide updates as required and added that it “stands firmly with the people of Sri Lanka as we collectively move towards recovery.”
