Delhi’s government plans to launch a “Branding Delhi” initiative to position the city as a major international destination. The campaign will highlight Delhi’s rich history, vibrant arts scene, and modern urban identity through activities including a new tourism circuit, an international film festival, and an investment summit.
In a review meeting, the Delhi Minister of Tourism, Kapil Mishra, said, "Under the campaign, efforts will be made to showcase Delhi not just as a transit city but as a destination in itself, reflecting its historical heritage, vibrant arts, and contemporary urban character."
The project aligns with the vision of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to develop Delhi as a “Developed Capital” and will involve digital outreach, cultural collaborations, and enhanced visitor visibility. The campaign is supported by the 2025-26 budget and seeks input from stakeholders for a transparent and inclusive approach.
The minister stated that the campaign will emphasise digital engagement, international cultural partnerships, and increased visibility for both popular and lesser-known attractions. He also called for a transparent and inclusive process, encouraging stakeholders to offer suggestions to help strengthen the initiative.
