Emirates has issued a travel advisory reminding UAE nationals to verify the validity of their passports before travelling abroad. The airline has warned that several international destinations require a minimum of six months’ passport validity from the date of travel. Failing to meet this requirement can result in passengers being denied boarding or facing complications upon arrival at their destination.

The advisory comes as part of Emirates’ wider effort to ensure smoother travel experiences and prevent last-minute disruptions at airports. The airline emphasised that even short-term trips, including those to popular regional destinations, may be subject to this rule. The six-month validity requirement is not specific to any single country but is widely enforced by immigration authorities across the world.

To assist passengers caught off guard by expired or soon-to-expire passports, Emirates has highlighted the availability of a renewal service at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3. Operated in coordination with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), this facility enables UAE citizens to renew their passports in roughly 30 minutes. The service aims to provide urgent travellers with a practical solution without the need to cancel or postpone flights.

Emirates continues to advise passengers to review entry requirements of their destination countries well in advance. The airline also recommends verifying passport and Emirates ID details through official channels before travelling, ensuring all documents are up to date to avoid unnecessary delays or travel disruptions.
