Karnataka Tourism has successfully hosted a vibrant roadshow at the Fairfield by Marriott, Kolkata, marking a strategic move to reinforce the state’s presence in Eastern India as a vital source market. The event showcased Karnataka’s diverse appeal, from rich heritage and natural beauty to adventure and culinary delights, to an enthusiastic audience of travel industry professionals and influential stakeholders from the region.
The roadshow served as an engaging platform for meaningful connections between Karnataka’s tourism representatives and leading tour operators, travel agents, and associations from Kolkata and neighbouring areas. Attendees were treated to an exploration of the state’s myriad offerings, spanning the historic sites of Hampi, Mysuru, and Badami, to tranquil retreats in Coorg, Chikmagalur, and Kabini. The programme also highlighted spiritual hotspots such as Shravanabelagola, Udupi, and Dharmasthala, alongside the contemporary attractions of Bengaluru.
Rajendra K V, IAS, Commissioner of Karnataka Tourism, chaired the delegation and emphasised the state’s strategic tourism goals. “Our vision is to establish Karnataka as a top-tier destination in both domestic and international markets,” he noted. “The response from the Eastern travel trade fraternity reflects the growing interest in curated, authentic, and sustainable travel experiences.”
The event incorporated personalised networking sessions and detailed destination presentations. Karnataka Tourism reaffirmed its commitment to responsible tourism by unveiling initiatives focused on eco-friendly practices, rural tourism, and experiential travel.
Participants appreciated the comprehensive insights into travel circuits, infrastructure enhancements, and bespoke packages tailored to meet the evolving preferences of modern travellers. The showcase not only heightened awareness of Karnataka’s renowned attractions but also revealed lesser-known gems perfect for specialised tourism segments.
This Kolkata roadshow forms part of Karnataka Tourism’s broader nationwide outreach programme, aimed at boosting market visibility and fortifying trade partnerships across India. Karnataka Tourism sincerely thanks the travel trade community of Eastern India and looks forward to ongoing collaborations to promote the state’s extraordinary travel experiences.
