This coming winter, Finnair will offer an unprecedented level of service to Finland’s Lapland region, increasing weekly flights to popular destinations such as Rovaniemi, Ivalo, and Kittilä. The extra flights are mainly scheduled around peak travel days, especially weekends, coinciding with cottage changeovers and holiday peaks.
"We are happy to be able to offer our customers even more comprehensive connections to all our Lapland destinations throughout the winter. The additional flights will be focused especially on the high season from December to February, but we have also added flights in March, thus supporting the whole winter travel season”, says Perttu Jolma, Vice President, Network, Finnair.
Next winter, Finnair will operate up to 72 weekly flights to Rovaniemi, a rise of 10 flights compared to last year. During peak times, the airline will fly up to 16 times on Saturdays and 14 times on Sundays.
Kittilä, a favourite among travellers heading to regions like Levi and Ylläs, will see up to 41 flights weekly—seven more than last year. During the busiest weeks, Finnair will operate up to eight flights daily on weekends. Ivalo, the airline’s northernmost destination, will have up to 33 flights per week, with additional services on weekends.
Additionally, Finnair is increasing services to Kuusamo, another well-loved winter destination in Eastern Finland, adding two extra flights on Saturdays and one on Sundays.
