GNTO India Completes Four-City 2025 Roadshow

The German National Tourist Office India concluded its 2025 roadshow across Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai, held from November 17 to November 20, 2025. The programme brought together more than 120 travel agents in each city, reflecting Germany’s continued position as an essential outbound destination for Indian travellers.

Industry partners participating in the roadshow included Lufthansa Group, Rail Europe, Visit Berlin and Value Retail. The partners presented information on air connectivity, rail options, shopping experiences and destination-specific offerings to the travel trade. The event outlined the range of travel experiences available across Germany’s cities, cultural locations and shopping districts.

India remains one of Germany’s significant source markets. By September 2025, Indian visitors had recorded 6 lakh 50 thousand overnight stays. Germany also remains among the top three European destinations for Indian travellers. The average duration of stay in Germany has increased to 9.6 days.

Romit Theophilus, Director for Marketing and Sales Office, GNTO India, said, “We are thrilled by the remarkable enthusiasm and strong turnout at our 2025 India Roadshow. The growing momentum we are seeing in the Indian market is truly exciting, and the interest in Germany as a travel destination continues to rise. The partnership with leading brands like Lufthansa, Value Retail, Visit Berlin and Rail Europe only strengthens our position in India, and we are confident that Germany will continue to capture the imagination of Indian travelers in the coming years.”

The roadshow reflected the continuing interest in Germany among Indian travellers, supported by cultural sites, city experiences and connectivity between the two countries.

GNTO India also outlined its 2026 thematic focus. The City Life theme will highlight Germany’s urban culture and landmarks. Culinary Germany will showcase food-related experiences, from gourmet dining to regional specialities. With an increase in interest from Indian travellers in gastronomic travel, the theme will build awareness of Germany’s food culture.

GNTO India will expand its focus on Honeymoon and Wedding Travel in response to growing demand from the Indian market. Locations such as Bavaria, the Black Forest and Saxony provide settings for pre-wedding shoots, destination weddings and honeymoon itineraries.

The Season’s Greetings theme will continue to promote Germany’s winter attractions, including festive markets, seasonal events and family-focused winter itineraries.

Together, these themes support GNTO India’s objective of strengthening Germany’s visibility as a destination for the Indian market in 2026.
