Goa Showcases Regenerative Tourism Vision at GITB 2025

At the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) 2025, held in Jaipur from May4-6, the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, made a significant mark by spotlighting the state’s rich and regenerative tourism potential. The annual event, organised by the Government of Rajasthan, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and FICCI, served as a prestigious platform for Goa to promote its evolving tourism narrative.

Reflecting on the event’s outcomes, Director Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik stated “Goa’s strong showing at GITB reflects the growing interest in Goa as a destination that goes beyond the beach. The positive response validates our efforts in promoting Regenerative Tourism, cultural experiences, and sustainable travel narratives. We look forward to building on these engagements to deliver meaningful growth for the sector.”

The Goa delegation was led by key figures including Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS, Secretary, Tourism, Government of Goa; Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism; Gavin Dias, General Manager, GTDC; and Rajesh Kale, Deputy Director (South), Department of Tourism. Their presence signalled Goa’s strong intent to engage with international buyers, global tour operators, and tourism industry stakeholders.

Goa Tourism’s participation included robust B2B meetings, strategic policy discussions, and networking sessions to strengthen the state’s presence in international travel circuits. Ahuja also featured as a distinguished panelist in the session “Catalysing Growth: How Tourism Policies are Attracting MICE Opportunities,” alongside senior officials from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Odisha.

During the session, he outlined Goa’s comprehensive approach to positioning itself as a premier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) destination. He highlighted forward-looking tourism policies, infrastructure upgrades, and innovative marketing strategies designed to support sustainable and experience-driven travel.

The state’s active presence at GITB 2025 underlined its commitment to diversifying its tourism appeal beyond beaches and parties, with a focus on cultural immersion, ecological balance, and business travel. With regenerative tourism at the forefront, Goa is now emerging as a serious contender in India’s next wave of high-impact travel destinations.
