Goa has taken its charm to Moscow this week, marking a colourful debut at OTDYKH Leisure 2025, one of the world’s largest travel and tourism exhibitions. The international showcase, which opened on 11 September at the Timiryazev Exhibition Centre, saw Goa Tourism unveil its new theme, “Sunshine and More in Goa”—inviting visitors to discover the sunshine state as more than just a beach destination.

The Goa Pavilion was a lively mix of colour, stories, and digital displays. Visitors were drawn into immersive showcases that painted a picture of Goa’s many faces: pristine beaches, luxury stays, wellness retreats, spiritual getaways, and adventure activities, alongside heritage walks, hinterland trails, and community-based tourism. The aim was clear—to position Goa as a year-round destination that balances leisure with cultural depth.

Meanwhile, Minister for Tourism, Rohan A. Khaunte said, “Goa is moving beyond being just a beach destination. Through ‘Sunshine and More in Goa,’ we are showcasing the state’s evolving identity as a destination rooted in culture, wellness, adventure, and sustainability. Our participation here is about building deeper collaborations and ensuring that Goa remains a preferred choice for quality international travellers.”

Adding to this, Director of Tourism, Kedar Naik, noted, “The enthusiastic response on Day 1 reaffirms Goa’s strong recall among international visitors. At OTDYKH, we are emphasizing regenerative tourism, responsible travel, and authentic local experiences.”

The delegation, led by Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, and supported by Prasad Kavlekar, Senior Manager of Marketing at GTDC, met with global travel professionals, media, and industry leaders. Mr Naik also connected with Shri Nikhilesh Giri, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Moscow, reinforcing Goa’s growing ties in international tourism.

Day one saw interactive sessions with travel trade partners, while visitors explored multimedia storytelling that highlighted Goa’s progress towards becoming a sustainable and world-class destination. With global travellers increasingly drawn to regenerative tourism, Goa put the spotlight on its eco-friendly practices, protecting ecosystems, empowering local communities, and encouraging responsible travel.

As the exhibition continues until 12 September, the Pavilion will host further B2B meetings, cultural performances, and networking sessions. By the close of the event, Goa hopes to strengthen its position on the global map as a vibrant, multifaceted destination—one that truly lives up to its new promise of offering “Sunshine and More.”
