Goa strengthens its global tourism presence at World Travel Market London
Goa Tourism participated in the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025, attracting attention from global travel trade and industry partners. The pavilion saw a steady flow of visitors interested in the State’s cultural heritage, hinterland trails, wellness tourism, and expanding infrastructure that supports its evolving tourism narrative.
The showcase reflected Goa’s focus on culture, heritage, cuisine and immersive experiences, aligned with its commitment to regenerative tourism and community empowerment. Participation in the event underlined the State’s efforts to engage travellers seeking authentic connections and local stories.
The Goa Pavilion was inaugurated by Kartik Pande, Deputy High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom; Rohan A. Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa; Rakesh Dahiya, First Secretary (Trade & Tourism), High Commission of India, London; Sanjeev Ahuja, Secretary (Tourism); Sandip Jacques, Secretary (Revenue); Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC); Jayesh Kankonkar, Assistant Director (Tourism); and Shawn Mendes, Officer on Special Duty to the Minister for Tourism.
Representatives from several travel trade organisations, including Sheikh Ismail (Concord Exotic), Deepak Bhatnagar (Minar Travels), Anup (Let’s Goa) and Martin Joseph Thypodath (Freedom Holidays), were also present. The Goa delegation engaged with global travel and media representatives, fostering partnerships and exploring new areas for collaboration.
Speaking about the participation, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said: “Our participation reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening our tourism ecosystem through meaningful, community-led initiatives. We continue to promote experiences rooted in culture, heritage, wellness and spirituality, offering visitors a deeper connection with the State. Our focus remains on enhancing accessibility, improving visitor experience, and showcasing Goa as a year-round destination that welcomes travellers with warmth.”
Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director, GTDC, added: “We remain aligned with Goa Tourism’s efforts to enhance visitor engagement and support initiatives that contribute to a more inclusive tourism framework. Participation at WTM helps us strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities that contribute to sustainable growth.”
Kedar Naik, Director (Tourism), Government of Goa, said: “We are focused on positioning Goa as a responsible and experiential tourism destination. Our efforts are geared toward improving visitor experience, promoting innovative circuits and highlighting local culture so travellers can explore Goa in new and engaging ways.”
Goa Tourism’s presence at WTM London 2025 supports its ongoing campaign, Goa Beyond Beaches, reaffirming the State’s position as a destination shaped by culture, community, and meaningful travel experiences. The participation also aims to strengthen international partnerships and reinforce Goa’s reputation as a year-round destination rooted in heritage and hospitality.
