The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is set to organise its upcoming Monsoon Trekking Expedition to Charavane in Sattari Taluka on Sunday, July 13, 2025. As the monsoon breathes new life into Goa’s hinterlands, the trail to Charavane promises an immersive experience through one of the state’s most picturesque and biodiverse regions.

Spanning approximately eight kilometres, the trek to Charavane offers a harmonious blend of natural splendour and adventure. The route meanders through lush forests, flowing streams, and varied terrain, including steep ascents and slippery rocks. Participants can anticipate witnessing nature in full bloom — from colourful butterflies and melodies of birdlife to stunning vistas untouched by urbanisation. This moderately challenging trail is ideal for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and adventure seekers. The programme is organised in partnership with the Forest Department, Government of Goa, and Goa Forest Development Corporation.

Transport arrangements have been made from various parts of Goa to facilitate easy access. Buses will leave from Margao Residency and Mapusa Residency at 7:30 am, and from Paryatan Bhavan, Patto, at 8:30 am. Pick-up points en route include Birla Junction in Verna, Cortalim, Porvorim, Banasthari, and Honda. The registration fee is ₹1,400 per person, inclusive of applicable taxes, covering transport, breakfast, lunch, and the guidance of trained professional naturalists throughout the trek.

Participants are advised to carry rainwear, a change of clothes, sturdy trekking footwear, snacks, and binoculars to enhance their experience. Smoking and alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited during the trek. The activity is not suitable for individuals who are physically unwell, as some sections involve steep and slippery stretches.
