IndiGo and Digi Yatra Team Up to Simplify Travel

IndiGo and Digi Yatra, a Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) based ecosystem using face biometric technology for contactless and seamless passenger processing at airports, have finalised an app-to-app integration that allows boarding passes to be shared between their apps. Digi Yatra, committed to offering a seamless, contactless, and secure travel experience, supports biometric-enabled travel, ensuring data privacy, regulatory compliance, and an enhanced passenger experience by digitalising the entire check-in and boarding process.

With this partnership, IndiGo travellers can now share their boarding pass directly with the Digi Yatra app by simply tapping “Share with Digi Yatra” in the IndiGo app after completing their web check-in. This will eliminate the need to manually scan the QR code on a physical boarding pass or upload it digitally, which often causes additional steps and delays for travellers. The process is designed to ensure user consent is obtained at every stage, and only the necessary details are shared with Digi Yatra airport verifiers. This automated, secure process between apps helps maintain the highest standards of integrity and authenticity for the boarding pass. Importantly, it follows privacy-by-design principles as the entire transaction takes place offline on the device through deep linking, with no server or cloud involvement.
