IndiGo has commenced direct flights between Kolkata and Siem Reap, becoming the first Indian carrier to connect India with Cambodia directly. The new service, operated three times a week using Airbus A320neo aircraft, strengthens IndiGo’s expanding international network across the ASEAN region. Siem Reap now becomes IndiGo’s 46th international and 140th overall destination.
Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer at IndiGo, said, “We are glad to launch our inaugural flight to Siem Reap, IndiGo’s 46th international destination, that not only expands our network across Southeast Asia but also enhances our global connectivity from our Kolkata hub. This new service is India’s first direct air link to Cambodia operated by an Indian carrier, and we believe it will play a vital role in fostering deeper ties between India and the ASEAN region. As we continue to build bridges across Asia’s dynamic economies and cultural destinations, this new route reflects IndiGo’s commitment to connecting people, cultures, and opportunities.”
Siem Reap, Cambodia’s second-largest city, serves as the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat and remains one of Southeast Asia’s key cultural destinations. With simplified travel options through Visa on Arrival and e-Visa facilities, the new connection is expected to make travel more convenient and further strengthen tourism and cultural ties between the two nations.
The new flights operate every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, departing Kolkata at 1:50 AM and arriving in Siem Reap at 6:20 AM. The return flights depart Siem Reap at 7:20 AM and arrive in Kolkata at 8:55 AM, all times local to their respective time zones.
