IndiGo outlines passenger support measures amid ongoing disruption
Following the widespread operational disruption reported earlier this week, IndiGo issued an additional advisory confirming that all IndiGo domestic flights departing from Delhi Airport on December 5, 2025, were cancelled until 11:59 PM. The airline said it expressed its “profound apologies to all our valued customers and stakeholders who have been significantly impacted by these unforeseen events”.
The carrier stated that affected passengers would be supported with “refreshments, next available flight options as per their preference, hotel accommodation, assistance in retrieving their luggage and full refunds, as applicable”. Passengers scheduled to depart from Delhi were requested to contact ground staff “for guidance regarding luggage collection”.
The airline advised customers to visit its website or contact customer service for assistance, noting: “We understand the immense inconvenience and distress this has caused and sincerely regret the inconvenience.”
IndiGo issued an extended advisory to passengers as disruptions continued across its network, following three days of widespread cancellations triggered by new government regulations on pilot rest periods and night flying.
In a follow-up to its earlier statement, the airline acknowledged the scale of the crisis and the difficulties passengers faced. IndiGo said, “We do deeply apologise and understand how difficult the past few days have been for many of you. While this will not get resolved overnight, we assure you that we will do everything in our capacity to help you in the meantime and to bring our operations back to normal at the earliest.”

The airline stated that it is recognised for reliability but added that it has experienced “a serious operational crisis” over the past few days. It noted that several passengers were affected by cancellations and faced long wait times with limited information.
According to the advisory, “Today should be the day with highest number of cancellations, as we are doing all that is necessary to reboot all our systems and schedules for progressive improvement starting tomorrow.” IndiGo added that teams are working with the Ministry and DGCA to reinstate operations, and that short-term proactive cancellations are being made to ease operations and decongest airports.
IndiGo confirmed that refunds will be processed automatically to the original payment method and that it will offer a full waiver for all cancellations or rescheduling requests for travel between December 5, 2025 and December fifteen, 2025. The airline said that thousands of hotel rooms and surface transport have been arranged for affected customers.
It stated that food and snacks are being provided to waiting passengers at airports and that lounge access is being arranged for senior citizens “wherever possible”.
The airline requested passengers’ cooperation, advising them to check flight status online and avoid travelling to the airport if their flight is cancelled. IndiGo acknowledged delays at its customer service centres but said it has increased capacity to reduce wait times. It noted that its AI assistant Eskai can help with flight status, refunds, and rebookings, and directed passengers to use golndigo.in/6eskai.
IndiGo said, “We want you to know that you will see incremental progress. We will do everything to earn back your trust and the love you have showered on us in the last nineteen years and we can't lose it at any cost.”
The airline said frontline staff and teams remain dedicated to restoring operations and assisting passengers. It added, “Thank you for your patience, understanding, and kindness during this difficult time. We shall keep you updated on the progress on an ongoing basis. And once again... our sincere apologies!”
The extended advisory follows earlier communication in which IndiGo confirmed that all domestic flights departing from Delhi Airport on December 5, 2025, were cancelled until 11:59 PM, and that customers would be provided assistance, including accommodation, refunds, luggage support, and alternative flight options.
