ITDC Vigilance Awareness Week 2025

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, successfully observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from October 27 to November 2, 2025. Held under the theme Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility’, the initiative underscored the collective role of individuals, institutions, and society in promoting transparency, integrity, and accountability.

Reflecting on the importance of the observance, Mugdha Sinha, IAS, Managing Director, ITDC, said, “Observing Vigilance Awareness Week gives ITDC an opportunity to reflect, engage and collectively reaffirm our commitment to transparency and accountability. The tourism and hospitality—or any other industry—rests on the foundation of ethical conduct.”

Echoing this commitment, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Chief Vigilance Officer, ITDC, stated, “In line with Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) directives, ITDC continues to strengthen preventive vigilance measures across its offices and hotels, including timely disposal of complaints, enhanced asset management systems, and digital vigilance initiatives.”

The week-long observance began with employees across ITDC’s corporate and regional offices, hotels, catering units, Ashok Travels & Tours, and the Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIHTM) taking the Integrity Pledge. A series of activities followed, with AIHTM students leading initiatives such as poster making, slogan writing, debate, and quiz competitions. These events encouraged participants to express their ideas for a corruption-free and vigilant India.

Interactive sessions conducted by external experts further enriched the programme. A capacity-building workshop on preventive vigilance for ITDC employees was among the key highlights, aimed at enhancing awareness and fostering a culture of integrity across all levels of the organisation.

As part of ITDC’s outreach efforts, students performed a compelling Nukkad Natak (street play) to communicate the importance of vigilance in daily life. The week concluded with a Walkathon, flagged off by the CVO, symbolising the collective commitment towards transparency, ethical conduct, and responsible governance.

Through these initiatives, ITDC once again reinforced its dedication to upholding integrity and transparency in all aspects of its operations, aligning with the spirit of Vigilance Awareness Week and the broader goals of good governance.
