The Tourism Department has developed a strategic plan aimed at promoting lesser-known and offbeat destinations across the region. Joint Director of Tourism, Jammu, Aijaz Qaiser, engaged with prominent social media travel and food vloggers from Jammu during a recent meeting in Jammu. The initiative is part of the department’s broader vision to boost tourism by showcasing the area’s unique attractions and encouraging visitors to explore beyond popular sites like Katra.

Qaiser praised the creativity and content quality of the vloggers and expressed the department’s enthusiasm to collaborate with local content creators to highlight Jammu’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, and diverse culinary offerings. Emphasising the potential to increase tourist footfall to lesser-visited locations, he assured full departmental support to influencers capable of promoting Jammu’s many attractions.

A presentation was shared outlining how the department aims to establish Jammu as an adventure tourism hub, with concerted efforts underway to realise this vision. During the discussion, vloggers were invited to share their ideas and specify the support they would need from the department.

This engagement, overseen by Vikas Gupta, Director of Tourism, Jammu, aimed to foster content creation targeted at various tourism sectors, including adventure, leisure, spiritual, luxury, wildlife, and nature, appealing to tourists across different budgets.
