Jammu & Kashmir Tourism showcased its rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism offerings at the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2025, garnering an enthusiastic response from industry stakeholders, travel professionals, and visitors alike.

The event was officially opened by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on July 10, marking a significant milestone in reinforcing J&K’s reputation as a premier year-round travel destination in India.

Vikas Gupta, Director of Tourism in Jammu, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and highlighted the sector’s remarkable progress under the guidance of Yasha Mudgal, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Tourism Department. He emphasised developments in infrastructure, ease of travel, and tourist safety, alongside a range of new initiatives targeting adventure tourism, leisure, pilgrimage, MICE, golf, and eco-tourism. He also underscored the importance of community participation and sustainable practices.

Gupta called upon the travel trade across the country to collaborate with Jammu & Kashmir Tourism and local stakeholders to create innovative packages that promote lesser-known destinations such as Bangus, Gurez, Padder, and Basohli. These efforts aim to benefit local communities whilst enriching visitor experiences.

He also spoke about the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and invited parties to participate in upcoming yatras, including the Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra, Machail Mata Yatra, and Kailash Kund Yatra, which draw thousands of pilgrims annually and highlight the region’s spiritual richness.

Furthermore, he highlighted renowned destinations like Gulmarg, Bhaderwah, Pahalgam, Katra, and Patnitop, encouraging visitors from across India and beyond to explore the natural beauty and charm of Jammu & Kashmir.

J&K Tourism’s vibrant pavilion attracted significant footfall, showcasing the region’s breathtaking landscapes, adventure activities, pilgrimage circuits, offbeat travel experiences, traditional arts, crafts, and cuisine. Over 70 participants from various parts of J&K — including Katra, Jammu, Patnitop, Pahalgam, Srinagar, and Gulmarg — showcased the region’s enduring appeal as a must-visit destination for both domestic and international travellers.

In recognition of its impressive presentation and visitor engagement, the J&K Pavilion was awarded the Award of Excellence. The award was received by Director of Tourism Jammu, Arif Lone, along with Tahir Wani, Assistant Director Tourism Gulmarg, and Yash Wani, Assistant Director Tourism Jammu.
