Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS) has announced a new leadership team following its 6th Annual General Meeting in Bengaluru. The gathering brought together members of the tourism and hospitality fraternity who share a common goal of promoting Karnataka as one of India’s most diverse travel destinations.
The new committee will steer the society for the next two years, continuing its efforts to position Karnataka on the national and international tourism map. With its “One State, Many Worlds” theme, the state offers a blend of heritage, wildlife, adventure and wellness, and the society plays a crucial role in connecting stakeholders to boost this image.
K Syama Raju has been elected President, supported by Vice President S Mahalingaiah and Secretary PC Rao. The team also includes Treasurer Ayappa Somaiah, Joint Secretary GK Shetty, and an executive committee made up of experienced professionals from across the industry. Their collective focus will be on strengthening collaboration with government bodies, encouraging sustainable tourism and supporting the growth of local businesses.

Speaking at the meeting, members highlighted the importance of working together to build experiences that appeal to travellers seeking authenticity. From promoting lesser-known regions to improving infrastructure, the society’s leadership underlined that the next two years will be about building momentum for Karnataka’s tourism economy.
