Kerala Tourism is making a strong pitch to become India’s go-to destination for luxury weddings and global business events as the first-ever Wedding and MICE Conclave opens today in Kochi. Organised by the Kerala Travel Mart Society in collaboration with the state government, the three-day event positions the state as a premier setting for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions (MICE) and destination weddings.
The grand inaugural ceremony takes place this evening at Grand Hyatt, Bolgatty Island, led by Tourism and Public Works Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas, with Industries, Law and Coir Minister P. Rajeeve chairing the session. Distinguished guests include Hibi Eden MP, Kochi Mayor M. Anilkumar, Union Ministry of Tourism Additional Secretary and Director-General Suman Billa, State Tourism Secretary Biju K, Kerala Tourism Director Sikha Surendran, Additional Director Sreedhanya Suresh, and KTM Society leaders.
Over the next two days, business meetings, networking sessions, and discussions unfold at Le Meridien International Convention Centre. From 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, 610 domestic buyers and 65 international buyers from 27 countries, including the UAE, UK, USA, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Turkey, connect with sellers to explore Kerala’s unique offerings.
The event features 75 exhibition stalls, alongside dedicated showcases from Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), Kerala Tourism, and the Union Ministry of Tourism. Two national seminars, led by international experts, focus on current trends and the future vision for the wedding and MICE sectors, offering insights into global best practices and market potential.
From serene backwaters and heritage resorts to luxury houseboats and world-class convention spaces, Kerala is highlighting its distinctive charm for hosting unforgettable celebrations and impactful business events. The conclave is set to strengthen the state’s global positioning, promising a boost for tourism and allied industries.
