As Lufthansa approaches its centenary in 2026, the airline has announced a major initiative to redefine long-haul travel with the launch of FOX – Future Onboard Experience. Debuting in spring 2026, FOX will revamp all onboard service elements and processes across Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class, further reinforcing Lufthansa’s premium positioning.

Jens Ritter, CEO, Lufthansa Airlines, said, “We are investing over 70 million euros in our new Future Onboard Experience in the next twelve months alone. We are thus investing in a top premium product, in the satisfaction of our guests and in the future of our airline. With more individuality, greater comfort and extraordinary Lufthansa Signature Moments, we are building on what has always characterized us over the past 100 years: being an attentive and unique host above the clouds.”

Building on its fleet modernisation with Boeing 787-9s, Airbus A350-900s, and the recent introduction of the Allegris in-flight product, Lufthansa is now extending innovation through FOX. The concept promises more individuality, such as flexible meal choices in Business Class and expanded menu options in Economy and Premium Economy, alongside enhanced comfort, including upgraded amenities, textiles, and tableware across all cabins.

FOX stands for the fulfilment of individual wishes, for greater flexibility, for comfort and premium, for human interaction and hospitality above the clouds with the unmistakable character of Lufthansa.

Individuality will allow passengers greater flexibility to shape their own travel experience. In Business Class, travellers will be able to choose their second meal at a time that suits them, with a wide selection of savoury and sweet dishes, snacks, and hot meals. Economy and Premium Economy guests will also benefit, as meal options expand from two to three choices, providing more variety and personalised options.

Comfort is being reinforced with an emphasis on premium details. High‑quality amenities, upgraded textiles, and entirely new tableware will be introduced across all four cabin classes. Designed to be both modern and timeless, these enhancements not only serve a functional purpose but also convey a sense of value and reinforce the premium Lufthansa experience.

Lufthansa Signature Moments remain at the heart of FOX, celebrating elements that distinguish the airline’s hospitality. Iconic touches such as the rose in First Class, the exclusive caviar service, and the Avionic signature drink will continue to define the Lufthansa brand. Culinary offerings will be expanded with a focus on ‘home, variety, and Lufthansa signature dishes’, showcasing creations by top chefs that reflect both destinations and points of departure, ensuring passengers enjoy memorable and immersive moments above the clouds.
