Senior Travel Support Introduced Through #EldersFirst Packages

MakeMyTrip has collaborated with Emoha to launch #EldersFirst holiday packages designed for senior travellers. The announcement was made in Gurugram on November 14, 2025. The initiative has been introduced in response to increasing participation from travellers aged sixty and above, who currently make up nearly nine per cent of all holiday package bookings on the platform. Demand continues to rise for group tours and long-haul travel, with many travellers in this age group seeking additional support during trips.

According to Jasmeet Singh, Chief Commercial Officer – Holidays & Experiences, MakeMyTrip, “Travel is one of life’s greatest joys, and our elders deserve to experience it without worry. Too often, health concerns become barriers that keep them from exploring the world. With these senior-friendly holidays, we want to give them the freedom to travel with confidence and reassurance to their families. For us, this is not just about creating holidays, it’s about creating moments of joy and peace of mind for seniors and their families.”

Saumyajit Roy, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Emoha, said, “At Emoha, we believe every phase of life should be extraordinary. Just like a caring son or daughter, we’re always by their side, helping seniors age magnificently and enjoy life to the fullest. Travel is a dream many seniors hold close, but concerns about safety, support, or comfort can hold them back. That’s why, with MakeMyTrip, we’re creating #EldersFirst travel experiences that are safe, enjoyable, memorable.”

The #EldersFirst programme includes pre-travel health screenings and medical profiling. Accommodation partners are assessed for elder-friendly features such as grab bars, non-slip flooring, wheelchair access, and emergency support availability. A trained nurse travels with each group to monitor vitals, assist with medication, provide first-aid support and address individual health needs. Mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and walkers, are also available.

Itineraries are structured with later start times and regular breaks to manage travel fatigue. Meals are aligned to dietary preferences, and hydration is monitored throughout the trip. Families receive regular updates from Emoha coordinators with the option of real-time communication if required.
