Following positive load factors and consistent demand on the Trivandrum – Kuala Lumpur route, Malaysia Airlines is set to expand its services in South India by increasing flight frequencies to the city. From September 12, 2025, a fifth weekly flight will be introduced, with daily services starting from December 1, 2025. Tickets for these additional flights are now available. This development marks a significant milestone since the route's launch in November 2023, which initially operated twice weekly before increasing to four times weekly in April 2024.

The airline has also partnered with Kerala Tourism under the “Look East” initiative, launched in Trivandrum, to bolster travel links between East Asia and Kerala.

The increased frequencies underline Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to the Indian market by offering travellers greater flexibility and convenience, enhancing connectivity between India and Malaysia. Through its Kuala Lumpur hub, the airline continues to reinforce its role as the gateway to Asia and beyond.

Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer ofAirlinesfromMalaysiaAviation Group, said, “India remains a key focus market forMalaysiaAirlines, and this frequency increase reaffirms our dedicationtomeeting the growing demand for air travel from South India.WithdailyflightstoTrivandrum, we are well-positionedtooffer greater flexibility and convenience for both business and leisure travellers, while supporting trade andtourism flows between our two countries.”

Currently, Malaysia Airlines operates 76 weekly flights across ten major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandrum. With the new services, this will rise to 77 flights per week by December 2025.

Passengers travelling from India to Malaysia can also benefit from the airline’s Bonus Side Trip (BST) programme, which offers a complimentary visit to one of seven domestic destinations within Malaysia. This added feature allows international travellers to explore more of Malaysia’s distinct culture, nature, and heritage—all within a single itinerary.
