Moscow is set to launch its annual urban initiative, "Summer in Moscow," from June 1, 2025. Running for three months, the programme transforms the city into a lively hub of cultural, charitable, and sporting events, inviting visitors to experience its rich history and vibrant atmosphere.
Throughout June to August, Moscow will host a variety of open-air activities, many of which are free and open to the public. The initiative aims to showcase the city as an appealing destination for those interested in culture and memorable experiences.
The city’s scenic boulevards will host open-air theatre performances, art installations, and cultural workshops, creating festive spaces for both residents and visitors. Markets featuring local crafts and live music stages with Russian folk and contemporary acts will foster a lively festival environment.
Key events in 2025 include:
- The Moscow Estates Festival, offering immersive programmes at over 40 historic estates across the city.
- Theatre Boulevard, with more than 150 performances and 3,000 artists from Russia and abroad, alongside creative workshops and theatrical installations.
- The Gardens and Flowers Festival, transforming urban spaces into blooming landscapes with rare plants and floral art.
- The 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21, with open-air yoga sessions, meditation workshops, and cultural performances in city parks and public areas, in collaboration with the Embassy of India.
Moscow’s parks, such as Gorky Park and Zaryadye Park, will host dance events, evening parties with live music, and opera performances in scenic outdoor settings. These events promise an immersive experience of the city’s cultural diversity.
International visitors can explore 13 "Made in Moscow" art pavilions, including the Green Market on Bolotnaya Street, which features eco-friendly crafts, sustainable design products, and workshops on environmental art. The city's estates, gardens, and cultural venues offer excellent opportunities for photography and exploration.
In 2024, the programme attracted over 38 million visitors, with many international guests attending concerts, markets, and outdoor festivals. The variety and accessibility of events continue to make "Summer in Moscow" a notable part of the city’s summer calendar.
Moscow warmly welcomes visitors to enjoy this vibrant season from June 1, 2025.
