Chiang Mai in Thailand
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced a remarkable achievement ahead of the year's halfway point, by mid-June 2025, more than one million Indian visitors will have arrived in Thailand. This milestone highlights the continued popularity and increasing appeal of Thailand as a year-round destination among Indian tourists.
As of June 2025, the steady rise in Indian travellers reflects ongoing confidence and strong bilateral tourism ties. Last year saw Thailand welcome a record 35 million international visitors, with India making a significant contribution of 2.1 million arrivals.
Thailand’s diverse offerings: expansive cities, stunning beaches, spiritual retreats, wellness escapes, and a vibrant culinary scene from street food to fine dining, remain highly attractive to Indian visitors seeking enriching experiences at accessible prices. Enhanced air connections from across India, a visa exemption for stays up to 60 days, and innovations like the newly launched Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) have made travelling to Thailand easier and more convenient than ever.
TAT has also noted growing interest from emerging Indian markets such as Surat, Rajkot, Nagpur, and Nashik. These cities are increasingly popular for luxury travel, wellness holidays, and personalised experiences, with a rise in premium bookings.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand is committed to strengthening ties with the Indian market through tailored marketing campaigns, collaborative promotions with travel partners, and dynamic trade events and roadshows across India. Our goal remains to encourage longer, higher-quality visits and promote sustainable, high-value tourism aligned with Thailand’s global strategy.
