Ayodhya has witnessed an extraordinary spiritual tourism boom, with over 5.5 crore devotees visiting the sacred city since the consecration of the Ram Temple in January 2024. This landmark event, known as the Pran Pratishtha, has transformed Ayodhya into one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in the country this year.
The information was shared by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his recent visit to Ayodhya, where he reviewed the city’s ongoing development work. He noted that the number of pilgrims arriving daily has remained consistently high, reflecting a renewed national and global interest in Ayodhya's religious and cultural significance.
The massive influx of devotees has significantly boosted the local economy, benefiting hotels, transport services, local businesses, and temple staff. Local authorities have been working round-the-clock to enhance civic facilities, ensure cleanliness, and offer a peaceful experience to the growing number of tourists.
The Ram Temple, a symbol of faith and cultural heritage, has become the focal point for millions of pilgrims and tourists not only from India but also from around the world. With future events and festivals expected to draw even larger crowds, Ayodhya is well on its way to becoming a year-round spiritual tourism hotspot.
As the temple complex nears completion, authorities remain committed to balancing heritage preservation with modern tourism development, ensuring Ayodhya remains a proud cultural landmark for generations to come.
