Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the final section of Mumbai Metro 3 (Aqua Line) on September 30. The metro will connect Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli to Cuffe Parade.
When fully operational, Metro 3 will span roughly 33.5 km from Aarey JVLR to Cuffe Parade. Currently operational routes include:
Aarey to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC)
The route has been operational since October 202X and covers around 13 km. Stations along this route include Aarey, SEEPZ, MIDC, Marol Naka, Airport T2, Sahar Road, Airport T1, Santacruz, Bandra Colony, and BKC.BKC to Worli (Acharya Atre Chowk)
Opened in May 2025, this route is around 10 km in length. Stations include Dharavi, Shitladevi Temple, Dadar, Siddhivinayak Temple, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk.Worli to Cuffe Parade
Expected to open by October 2025. This route will reach Cuffe Parade after passing the Science Museum, Mahalaxmi, Grant Road, Girgaon, Kalbadevi, CSMT, Hutatma Chowk, Churchgate, and Vidhan Bhavan.

Timings and Frequency
Previously, services began at 6:30 am; the first train on the operational sections (from Aarey JVLR to Acharya Atre Chowk) will now depart at 5:55 am. The last service is scheduled for 10:30 pm.
Frequencies and headways for the already-operational section are roughly every 6–7 minutes during both peak and off-peak times; the final stretch will likely follow similar norms. The operational section (Aarey to Acharya Atre Chowk) is currently fully operational and spans 22.46 km.
Fares and Travel Time
Fares for the parts currently in operation range from Rs 10 to Rs 50, depending on distance. The end-to-end fare (from Aarey to Cuffe Parade) is expected to be in the upper range (around Rs 50) once the full line opens.
With the current service, the 22-kilometre journey from Aarey to Acharya Atre Chowk takes roughly 36 minutes. It is anticipated that the entire trip will take under an hour, with the final phase adding more stations and extending the route.
