Princess Cruises is set to make a significant impact in Southeast Asia with nearly 30 cruises departing from Singapore during the 2026-27 winter season. This expansion marks an exciting development for the brand, as the Sapphire Princess rejoins the fleet alongside the Diamond Princess, offering travellers an enhanced array of itineraries. With two ships homeported in Singapore, guests can look forward to an increased variety of destinations, longer stays, and new opportunities to explore the captivating region of Southeast Asia.

Sapphire Princess Returns to Asian Waters

After a five-year hiatus, the Sapphire Princess will return to Asia at the end of 2026, bringing a host of memorable cruises. Built in 2004, the ship will operate 18 voyages from Singapore, ranging from roundtrip journeys to the Far East to more in-depth explorations of Southeast Asia. This deployment will provide even more choices for passengers eager to experience the vibrant cultures and stunning landscapes of this diverse region.

One highlight of the Sapphire Princess’s itineraries will be extended port stays, allowing guests to enjoy the locales in greater depth. Ports such as Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, Bangkok in Thailand, and Hong Kong in China will all offer longer visits, giving travellers the chance to immerse themselves in local experiences and enjoy the bustling atmosphere into the evening.

Festive Cruises for 2026 and 2027

Princess Cruises is also offering special holiday cruises that promise an unforgettable festive season at sea. In December 2026, the Sapphire Princess will embark on a 14-night voyage celebrating Christmas and New Year, visiting ports in Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand. With stops at Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, and Sihanoukville, guests can ring in 2027 in an exotic and memorable setting.

In early 2027, a further 14-night cruise will celebrate Chinese New Year, marking the Year of the Goat. This voyage will visit ten ports across Southeast Asia, providing a rich cultural experience as guests enjoy the region’s traditional festivities and vibrant celebrations.

Diamond Princess Returns to Singapore

Alongside the Sapphire Princess, the Diamond Princess will also return to Singapore after extended seasons in Japan and the Far East. Starting from November 2026, the 2,600-passenger vessel will undertake 11 sailings from Singapore before heading back to Japan in March 2027. With itineraries ranging from seven to 28 nights and visiting 28 destinations across eight countries, the Diamond Princess will offer a diverse and flexible cruise programme.

This will be the first season since 2018-19 that both ships will operate from Singapore, promising a dynamic and varied cruising experience for travellers.

Discover the Best of Southeast Asia

The new season from Singapore will bring guests closer to the heart of Southeast Asia, with extended port stays allowing for leisurely exploration of iconic locations. From the lively streets of Bangkok to the serene beauty of Ha Long Bay, passengers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in local culture and natural splendour.

A New Chapter for Princess Cruises in Asia

Princess Cruises’ decision to expand its presence in Singapore reflects the increasing demand for immersive travel experiences across Asia.
