Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has successfully concluded a four-city roadshow across India, bolstering its presence in one of its key source markets. Taking place from July 21 to 25, the roadshow visited New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad, focusing on major Indian cities that drive outbound travel for leisure, weddings, and MICE segments.
The event offered a vibrant platform for the RAKTDA team, including hotel partners and local DMCs, to engage directly with over 300 prominent figures from the Indian travel trade, including MICE agents, event organisers, and tour operators. A highlight was a series of focused, one-on-one meetings, allowing Indian stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of Ras Al Khaimah’s diverse offerings in leisure, wedding, and MICE sectors. These valuable business discussions paved the way for strategic collaborations, with partners exploring bespoke opportunities tailored to the Indian market. Additionally, exclusive networking dinners and brunches fostered further industry engagement. The roadshow not only enhanced relationship-building but also strengthened Ras Al Khaimah’s positioning as a “destination of the future”, supporting its long-term growth ambitions.
In 2024, the Emirate welcomed a record 1.28 million overnight visitors worldwide, with tourism revenues rising by 12 per cent compared to the previous year and a 40 per cent growth in MICE business, cementing its reputation as a prime destination for events. India remains a crucial focus, with a notable 25 per cent year-on-year increase in Indian travellers recorded so far in 2025. Thanks to its proximity to major Indian cities, improved air connectivity, and its appeal as a premium leisure and wedding destination, India is set to play a central role in Ras Al Khaimah’s ambition to attract 3.5 million visitors by 2030.
Continued investments in airline partnerships, marketing collaborations, and strategic alliances with Indian trade partners aim to further boost visitor numbers. Connectivity has been enhanced, with IndiGo now operating direct flights from Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kochi into Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, making travel more convenient for Indian visitors.
From the world’s longest zipline on Jebel Jais to desert safaris, cultural excursions, and nature-based adventures, Ras Al Khaimah offers Indian travellers a wide array of activities. The Emirate’s year-round attractions, luxury resorts, versatile venues ideal for destination weddings, and customised incentives for wedding planners make it an appealing choice for MICE organisers and couples seeking unique venues for their celebrations.
As RAKTDA continues to position Ras Al Khaimah as one of the region’s fastest-growing destinations, the success of this India-focused roadshow underscores the Emirate’s dedication to sustainable, long-term growth from the Indian market.
