In a strategic move to promote Sri Lanka as a premier holiday destination, Red Hat Communications, a leading travel communications and marketing firm, has announced a partnership with Classic Destinations, a renowned Sri Lankan travel and tour operator. The collaboration aims to raise Sri Lanka’s profile among Indian tourists through a series of targeted roadshows and marketing initiatives across India.

Under this partnership, Red Hat Communications will spearhead a comprehensive promotional campaign across key Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities. The campaign will showcase Sri Lanka’s vibrant cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and diverse experiences—from pristine beaches and lush tea estates to its rich wildlife and ancient temples. The initiative also aligns with Sri Lanka’s efforts to secure a larger share of the burgeoning Indian outbound travel market, which has shown significant growth potential following the pandemic. The partnership will foster stronger links with travel companies, supporting them to enhance skills, tourism offerings, and revenue.

Speaking on the announcement, Jyoti Mayal, CEO of Red Hat Communication, said, "India and Sri Lanka share deep-rooted cultural and historical ties. We see tremendous opportunity in repositioning Sri Lanka as not just a holiday destination, but an all-season travel experience. Through these roadshows, our goal is to engage travel trade partners and consumers alike, creating awareness, building interest, and ultimately driving footfall to Sri Lanka. Classic Destinations brings unmatched on-ground expertise, and together, we are committed to unlocking Sri Lanka’s true tourism potential in India. With our dynamic & effective team based in North, South, East & West India dedicated to supporting Classic Destinations, we're confident that this partnership will add a new dimension, support, and additional revenue streams for our travel partners.”

Echoing the sentiment, Chalaka Gajabahu, Head of Classic Destinations, added, "We are excited to collaborate with Red Hat Communications to tap into the dynamic Indian travel market. Our team in Sri Lanka is prepared to deliver authentic, memorable experiences tailored to Indian travellers. This partnership will bridge cultural curiosity with curated travel, offering new ways for Indians to explore Sri Lanka.”

The campaign will feature B2B networking events, innovative travel showcases, destination training workshops for travel agents, influencer collaborations, and joint promotions with airlines and hospitality partners. The initial phase of the roadshows will kick off in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, with subsequent stops planned in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.

With its extensive knowledge of Sri Lanka’s travel landscape, Classic Destinations will also provide infrastructural support and curated experiences ranging from luxury escapes to spiritual pilgrimages and adventure adventures. This alliance is poised to strengthen bilateral tourism ties and aid in Sri Lanka’s post-pandemic recovery by firmly establishing it on the minds of Indian tourists.
