redBus, the world’s largest online bus ticketing platform, has announced the launch of redBus Hotels, marking its entry into the budget accommodation space. With this move, redBus is set to become a one-stop travel companion for India’s growing community of value-driven and experience-seeking travellers.
Currently live in over 2,000 cities and towns, redBus Hotels aims to close a critical gap in the country’s travel market by making trusted, verified, and affordable stays easy to discover, whether in bustling metros or remote small towns. The new service complements the brand’s core ground transport offering, ensuring travellers can book both their bus journey and accommodation in a single, seamless experience.
At the heart of this expansion is The Budget Collection, clean, accessible rooms starting at just Rs 399 per night, often costing less than a bus ticket. Stays are categorised under Rs 499, Rs 799, and Rs 999, delivering maximum value without compromising on basic comforts. The platform features curated properties close to bus boarding points and railway stations for added convenience, and over 15,000 hotels offer perks like early check-in for travellers on the move.
Prakash Sangam, Chief Executive Officer, redBus said, “redBus has long been at the forefront of offering affordable, reliable transport. We’re now extending that promise to budget-friendly stays, giving travellers the same convenience and trust that they have come to expect from us. With redBus Hotels, travellers can compare and book verified accommodations online—saving time, avoiding uncertainty, and finding the right fit without walking from place to place. This platform is also intended to help budget hotels, hostels, and homestay owners boost their visibility, improve occupancy, and grow their business.”
Accommodation choices include hotels, hostels, guesthouses, lodges, and homestays, with discounts of up to 45 per cent, and even more during festive seasons. Travellers can also use redBus Choice, a filter to find properties with essentials such as a TV, AC, and free Wi-Fi, catering to the needs of the budget traveller.
Data from pilot programmes shows that 18- to 36-year-olds form the largest group of hotel bookers, highlighting the strong appeal among students, young professionals, and budget-conscious explorers. Interestingly, 70 per cent of these users travel to the same destination more than once, underlining the need for reliable, repeatable stay options.
Booking is simple, as redBus Hotels is integrated into the existing redBus app (Android and iOS). Personalised stay suggestions appear during bus ticket booking, tracking, or after purchase. This makes it easier than ever for the Bharat traveller to arrange both transport and stay in one place.
