Republic of Türkiye Marks 102nd National Day with a Grand Reception in New Delhi

Celebrating Türkiye’s Legacy of Friendship, Culture, and Progress

The Republic of Türkiye celebrated its 102^nd National Day with an elegant reception hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to India, H.E. Ali Murat Ersoy, and Fazilet Ersoy, at their residence in New Delhi on October 29, 2025. The evening commemorated the anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye, honouring the nation’s proud history, dynamic progress, and vibrant cultural heritage.

The celebration brought together around 500 guests, including over 50 Chiefs of Diplomatic Missions and their members, representatives from India’s business, cultural and media circles, former bureaucrats, and Turkish citizens. Ambassador Ersoy and Mrs Fazilet Ersoy personally welcomed each guest, creating a warm, gracious atmosphere that reflected the deep, enduring ties between Türkiye and India.

The event commenced with the national anthems of India and Türkiye, followed by the reading of a message from the President of the Republic of Türkiye. In his address, Ambassador Ersoy emphasised the growing potential for cooperation between the two nations.

Commenting on the occasion, H.E. Ali Murat Ersoy said, “The potential of the relationship far outweighs the current level of engagement. We must and will continue to work on it. Furthermore, as key players in our respective regions, we can work together to promote connectivity, stability, and peace. By aligning our efforts on global issues, we can amplify our voices and contribute to a more secure and sustainable world.”

Adding a touch of fun and excitement, the evening featured a raffle draw offering flight tickets and tour packages from Turkish Airlines, IndiGo, and several travel companies. Guests also enjoyed an immersive experience of Türkiye’s rich cultural legacy, enhanced by mesmerising performances of Turkish classical and folk music.

An exquisite array of authentic Turkish cuisine delighted the attendees. The menu featured signature dishes such as kebap, döner, and Turkish mezzes prepared with premium olive oil, alongside traditional baklava and Turkish ice cream. Crafted under the guidance of Turkish culinary experts, the spread reflected the depth, diversity, and artistry of Turkish gastronomy.

The celebration stood as a testament to Türkiye’s remarkable evolution over more than a century and its enduring commitment to cultural exchange, peace, and global friendship.
