Rajasthan is on a mission to become one of India’s most dynamic tourism investment hubs, and its latest move shows serious intent. The state hosted the “Rising Rajasthan Tourism Sector MoUs Accelerating Ground-Breaking Investors’ Dialogue” at Hotel Gangaur in Jaipur, drawing participation from 79 tourism MoU holders and senior officials from departments such as Tourism, UDH, Revenue, and LSG.
The event was action-driven. Focused discussions addressed key concerns like land allotment, conversion issues, and building plan approvals, ensuring that previously signed tourism MoUs start seeing real progress on the ground. Representatives from Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd. (TFCI) also attended, offering insights into financing solutions for tourism infrastructure.
Commissioner of Tourism Rukmani Riyar highlighted that under the Rising Rajasthan campaign, the state has signed over 1,600 tourism-related MoUs, amounting to a potential investment of Rs 1.37 lakh crore, and creating 1.90 lakh employment opportunities. Of these, 29 projects are already operational, and 213 projects have reached the ground-breaking stage, representing investments worth Rs 28,200 crore and 13,500 jobs.
To ensure efficient execution, the state has introduced multi-tier monitoring, with Chief Minister-led monthly reviews and fortnightly assessments by the Chief Secretary. A dedicated MoU Facilitation Cell under the Tourism Department, along with weekly district-level reviews, ensures ground-level implementation doesn't hit bureaucratic roadblocks.
Tourism Secretary Gayatri A. Rathore and Commissioner Riyar underscored the collaborative approach, with departments now working in sync to clear bottlenecks. Notifications under the Tourism Unit Policy 2024 (RTUP-2024) and a new comprehensive land policy are in progress to simplify land-related processes.
Looking ahead, Additional Director Pawan Kumar Jain unveiled two major upcoming policy frameworks:
- Rajasthan Film Tourism Promotion Policy – positioning the state as a global film shooting hub.
- Integrated Tourism Policy – focused on infrastructure, experience-based tourism, and job creation.
Rajasthan is already rising as a preferred destination for luxury weddings, international events, and film shoots. With a sharp focus on policy, coordination, and implementation, the state is not just signing MoUs—it’s transforming them into opportunities. The upcoming Rising Rajasthan Partnership Conclave in December 2025 will further showcase these milestones and connect investors with new avenues.
