Strengthening Air Connectivity Between India and Jordan

Royal Jordanian Airlines welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, describing it as a milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between India and Jordan. The visit coincides with the marking of seventy-five years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The visit to Amman includes high-level engagements with King Abdullah II and reflects the expanding cooperation between India and Jordan across sectors, including trade, infrastructure, renewable energy, education, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

As Jordan’s national carrier, Royal Jordanian Airlines continues to support this growing relationship through air connectivity between the two countries. The airline operates direct services between Mumbai and Amman, facilitating diplomatic, business, leisure and faith-based travel. The route also positions Amman as a transit hub for Indian travellers connecting to destinations across the Middle East, Europe and North America via Queen Alia International Airport.

Karim Makhlouf, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines, said, “Prime Minister Modi’s visit reflects the growing partnership between India and Jordan. As the national carrier, Royal Jordanian is proud to support increased mobility, tourism, and business travel between our countries.”

India remains a key market for Royal Jordanian Airlines, with demand continuing to rise for leisure, faith-based and business travel to Jordan and onward destinations. The airline continues to strengthen its India–Amman connectivity to support this momentum.

The visit has also brought renewed attention to Jordan as a destination for Indian travellers, with sites such as Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum and locations of religious and historical significance drawing interest.

Royal Jordanian Airlines also supports ExploRJordan, the country’s official tourism platform, which promotes curated itineraries, immersive travel experiences and emerging destinations in line with Jordan’s tourism strategy. Through its network and partnerships, the airline continues to enhance accessibility and awareness of Jordan among Indian travellers.
