Airline Offers Transit Stopover With Hotels and Local Experiences

Royal Jordanian Airlines, the flag carrier of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, has launched a twenty-four-hour premium stopover programme designed for travellers from India transiting through Amman on routes to Europe, the Middle East or North America. The programme offers access to elements of Jordan’s culture, heritage, gastronomy and hospitality within a single day.

Royal Jordanian notes that demand continues to increase among Indian travellers for experiential and meaningful journeys, and that the new programme aims to make it easier for travellers to discover Amman while in transit.

The stopover programme includes special hotel rates through RJ Holidays. Travellers can book discounted or special rates at properties such as Fairmont Amman, InterContinental Amman, St. Regis Amman or Mövenpick Dead Sea, depending on availability and preference.

Airport-to-hotel transfers are available as an optional ancillary service and can be arranged through RJ Holidays. The airline states that this service provides travellers with smooth movement from Queen Alia International Airport to selected hotels and experiences.

Through RJ Holidays, travellers can select from a range of curated experiences. These include a Levantine dining experience in Amman, time at the Dead Sea, guided walks through the Citadel and Roman Theatre, and visits to artisan studios, perfumeries and boutique handicraft ateliers.

Visa-on-arrival facilities are available for Indian passport holders travelling on Royal Jordanian flights, which the airline states supports a simplified and secure transit experience.

The airline describes Amman as a city where café culture, dining, contemporary art and history coexist. The stopover programme is designed to blend heritage with comfort for travellers looking to make use of their transit time.

Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer, Royal Jordanian Airlines, said: “India is not just a key market for Royal Jordanian; it is a cultural partner with deep and longstanding ties to Jordan. With the 24-Hour Premium Stopover Program, we are offering Indian travellers an effortless gateway into the heart of Amman. Even a short stay can feel personal, luxurious, and meaningful.”

The airline notes that the programme may appeal to passengers travelling to Europe, the U.S. and the GCC who seek more enriching routes. It also targets India’s premium leisure and business travel segments, aiming to convert transit time into a travel experience.

Bookings for the programme can be made at the Royal Jordanian website or via travel advisors, with customised plans available through RJ Holidays.
