Saudi Table Brings Saudi Cuisine to Indian Diners

The Saudi Tourism Authority’s consumer brand, ‘Saudi, Welcome to Arabia,’ will bring The Saudi Table, a limited-edition culinary residency, to One8 Commune, Gurgaon. The initiative, curated by Kunal Kapur, aims to introduce Indian diners to Saudi cuisine and its evolving culinary identity. The event was announced in Delhi on December 8, 2025.

For centuries, the coasts and ports of the Arabian Peninsula and western India have been connected through maritime trade. Spices, grains and culinary knowledge were exchanged across the Arabian Sea, creating subtle links between the food cultures of both regions. The Saudi Table draws on this shared heritage, presenting a menu that reflects longstanding traditions and Saudi’s contemporary dining influences.

Guests will find grazing tables featuring salads and mezze with za’atar grown in the Gulf, pomegranate molasses, Madinah dates, saffron, and regional herbs. Small plates include grilled halloumi, aubergine, stuffed chicken wings, spiced lamb koftas and Gulf-style seafood, all presented in a format intended for sharing. Large plates such as kabsa, mansaf and saffron rice with seafood reference ceremonial dining customs, while desserts include rose-and-pistachio panna cotta, date-and-almond preparations and warm kunafa.

The residency is designed to mirror Saudi dining culture, which is centred on communal participation. Visitors may sit, stand or move through the space as they explore the menu. The experience is positioned as a way to understand Saudi Arabia as a multidimensional destination shaped by trade, migration and cultural exchange, including its longstanding culinary relationship with India.

The Saudi Table also highlights the country’s contemporary chefs, modern culinary interpretations and regional differences, from the Hijaz coast to inland cities. Through ingredients such as pomegranate and saffron, the residency aims to present food as a reflection of community and connection.

The public showcase will run from December 12 to December 17, 2025, with access available through District by Zomato. Food enthusiasts, travellers and culturally interested diners are invited to explore the curated menu and experience an introduction to Saudi cuisine and hospitality.
