South African Tourism has unveiled the dates for its flagship trade shows, Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba, for the year 2026. These events are celebrated as key platforms for tourism and business on the African continent.

Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille, stated, “These are not just dates, they are important milestones in our continent’s tourism and business events calendar. They are South African Tourism’s commitment to partnering and working with the global tourism and business events sector, to facilitate valuable connections with various partners from across the globe. With this announcement, we are affirming South Africa’s position as a leading host of world-class business events.”
Meetings Africa remains the continent’s leading trade show for business events, working with partners across Africa to showcase the continent as a dynamic, innovative, and competitive destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
Africa’s Travel Indaba continues to be one of the world’s top leisure tourism marketing events, bringing together a diverse array of African tourism products, services, and stories.
Through these events, South African Tourism actively contributes to reducing unemployment, boosting economic growth, and broadening market access—especially for small businesses—to promote sustainable and inclusive development.
The organisation is also conducting a competitive bidding process for host cities for both trade shows from 2026 onwards, for the next five years. This presents a valuable opportunity for the events to grow and innovate, maximising their impact for all involved.
