South African Tourism has hosted its Corporate Think Tank event in Chennai, engaging with corporate leaders to promote business and leisure travel. The initiative forms part of a four-city series aimed at strengthening ties with India's corporate sector.

The event featured discussions about South Africa's meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions offerings. Chennai has emerged as a focus market due to its industrial base and growing corporate travel segment.

Deepika Nair, Acting Trade Manager of South African Tourism, highlighted improved connectivity and visa processes, including approvals within five working days. The Trusted Tour Operators Scheme also facilitates smoother travel for Indian businesses.

Gcobani Mancotywa, Regional General Manager for Asia, Australia and Middle East at South African Tourism, said: "The Corporate Think Tank serves as a strategic platform for us to engage directly with India's corporate leaders and gain deeper insights into their evolving travel priorities. We are delighted to bring this initiative to Chennai, a city renowned for its industrial strength, entrepreneurial spirit, and rapidly expanding corporate ecosystem."

India's growing outbound travel market positions South Africa as a natural partner for business events. The country offers more than three thousand adventure activities, wildlife safaris and scenic road trips within manageable travel durations.

South African Tourism continues to position the country as a value-driven destination for corporate travel, leveraging India's expanding MICE market and improved air connectivity between the two countries.
