SpiceJet has added five Boeing 737 aircraft to its operational fleet, including one 737 MAX model. This brings the airline's total operational fleet to 35 aircraft and represents the fifteenth aircraft added in just over six weeks.
The expansion has enabled SpiceJet to increase its daily flight operations from 100 in September to 176 flights currently. The new aircraft are being deployed on both domestic and international routes to meet increased demand during the winter travel season.
Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, said: "SpiceJet's winter expansion is a reflection of the strong demand in the market and our readiness to meet it. With 15 new aircraft joining our fleet and daily flights surging to 176, we are not only expanding our footprint but also reinforcing our commitment to reliable, affordable, and convenient air travel for millions of passengers."
The fleet additions include fourteen aircraft on damp lease arrangements and one reactivated 737 MAX from the airline's existing inventory. All five newly added aircraft have entered commercial service, supporting the airline's expanded winter schedule across its network.
